Blood Suckers!

There seems to be an odd theme happening in my summer! I am surrounded by blood suckers! 3 blood suckers have been a part of my summer! 2 of them are NOT welcome . . . the 3rd . . . well, we all have good reason to be in love with this one . . .

Worst to Best . . .

1. . . . Headlice (Not welcome)
-- Hana had it! 2 outbreaks! AAHH! Its finally GONE! The best website for the correct info is -- headlice.org

2. . . . Mosquito (Not welcome)
-- We've had our summer share of bites - but not as bad as lice!

3. . . . Edward (Hello!)
---- the one I am in love with (along with millions of other woman and girls across the country) . . .

Oh my GOSH!!! I am dying! I didn't think I would be such a freak about this book - but Scott happened to get it for me as a little surprise when he saw it as Costco for 12.50. I was glad, but not super anxious to read it. (I was currently reviewing Twilight, to prep for the movie) Then I began and of course have been spending every spare minute reading it!!! I am nearing the end of Book 2! (slow reader) Going crazy and loving it at the same time!

Despite all the crazy things happening in the book, changes, crazy new views of the characters, etc., I am still loving Edward (tho, some things are bugging about his character this book)! I am also really liking the turn of events for Jacob. Ooooh! Still reading! We'll see what happens. I hear it gets even weirder - but Stephenie Meyer always has so much obvious forshadowing in this series that I am pretty sure what is going to happen, with some things anyway.

Summer Up Date . . . The Highlights!

Alaska! So we start with Scott's Birthday Trip!!! Scott turned 30 on June 3rd this year. Scott and I went on a "Scott's 30th Birthday Trip" to Alaska June 5th-9th. Just the two of us! It was a BLAST! We fell in love with Alaska. We went to Anchorage and hiked around for a couple days, then we drove to the bottom of the Kinai Peninsula to Seward, a little port town surrounded by gigantic snow capped mountains (Amazing!!!) and took an 8 hour sea cruise and saw Killer Whales, Humpback Whales, Sea Lions, huge glaciers, and beautiful Alaska. Scott continually probes me now to see if we can move there permanently. I don't think I could handle the 24 hour day light in the summer and 24 hour night light in the winter, but it so amazingly beautiful.

(Scott also went on a second trip to Fairbanks, Alaska July 18th-20th - just a weekend trip- with 3 of his buddies from work. Now he wants to visit Juneau soon. We will go this winter to see the Northern Lights - - can't spell Aurora Borialisisisissis :))

After our trip to Alaska came the Wasatch Back Relay. GO INCREDIBLE HOLTS!!!

The Wasatch Back, June 20th-21st, just as the Hood to Coast Relay, proved to be an incredibly challenging, fun, bonding experience!!! I LOVED running it with my amazing husband (we will refer to him as "mah" :) thanks for the idea aunt Cath) Mah rocked the relay! He did so great! I loved watching him accomplish something so new and challenging for himself!!! What a man! I also loved being with my mom and sis, Becks, running it together. My mom drove our van. It was all so perfect! We had some challenges and major bumps in the road as a team, but we over came them, and if I wrote about them here, it would be too long for the readers digest version.

Next came camping with the Glauser Fam in PineValley, UT (just 45min. north of St. G.) over the 4th of July weekend.

We were all there except our fabulous sis, Cami. We sure missed you sis! We all came at different times. Brad and his kids, Mom, Sara, Jeff, and Mike were all there first, mah and I, with our kids, showed up on July 4th, Kendall came that night. The bonding moments mah and I had with Brad and Kendall that night were unexplainable - thanks guys ;). The next day Becky and Shane, and Scotty G. and Jocelyn (spell?) came. We all had a Great Glauser weekend together!!! Conrad and Landon, as you can see in the pictures were connected at the hip and BFF's the whole time.

Now finally - Mom, Becky, and I had the ultimate girls trip of the year!!! We went to Williamsburg, Virginia to see our very-missed, performing sister Cami!!!

July 23rd - 27th - We LOVED seeing our sis and her life on the East side of the US. The first day we took a long pit stop in Atlanta. The 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed the 12 hour stay in the ATL airport. ***The first day we were in VA, Thursday, all four of us went to D.C. and saw all the monuments and great American history. ***Friday we spent the day at Busch Gardens. Cam is performing there this summer. She has the most FUN show in the whole park!! The two guys and other girl she performs with are so fun and all 4 of them together were amazing! Of course, with out trying, Cami steals the show, but of course blended well with her cast. We saw all but one of her shows - yes we saw the same show 7 times, and NEVER got sick of it!!! They wanted to higher us as perminant cheering section for the show. :) We ran all over the park riding huge roller coasters, and seeing all Cam's friends in their shows too. Cam's "tots aws" boyfriend, Zach is in the picture above with the guitar. He is an AMAZING singer/musician and very cool person! He will be famous one day! (Becky has a link to his myspace page on her blog) We also had a blast listening to Zach play that night at Cheeseburger In Paradise. Cam's friends/fellow performers were there- we talked, laughed, danced. It was so fun!!!*** Then on Saturday, we went to Colonial Williamsburg in the morning - very historical - cool place. Then off to Busch Gardens again - playing and watching shows. *** We spent our final day, Sunday in the ATL airport again (we were flying standby). I ended up flying to Boise, ID and renting a car to get back to SLC in time for 7:30am work the next morning - mah flew and met me there and drove the car with me to SLC - he drove - I slept :). Mom and Becks ended up spending the night in the ATL airport and flew out Sunday morning to SLC and back to SGU that day.

Wow! What a crazy fun trip!!!

Quick finish . . . I have been working full-time with the YWCA kids in their summer camp program. I needed to higher a P/T nanny, who has been great with my kids at home. Conrad is best buddies with her little 2 1/2 year old girl. Now summer camp is over and I am back to by regular P/T schedule there. I had a good time, but am glad to be with my kids during the day again. Scott is still F/T at SkyWest and anxious for something new for himself and our family. . . who knows, maybe Alaska is our next move ;).
