How do you help, when you don't even know where to begin?
Scott has a friend he used to work with at SkyWest - his name is Aaron Shamy (Scott calls him Shamy). Scott has been climbing with him a couple times and they chat on the phone every once in a while. Anyway, Shamy called Scott the other day and gave him the news that his 3 year old little boy has a rare form of Lukemia and has been at Primary Children's for the last few weeks doing tests, and helping this little guy get through this. Wow, what do you do when you get that news -- and how it hits close to home, because our little Conrad is 3.
Everyday Scott checks the website Shamy has made for his boy. Each day Scott asks me, "What can we do? I want so bad to help, to do something, but what? How can I give?" Then he said to me yesterday, "All I can do it just send my love and positive energy to his boy, and to Shamy and his family!" Sometimes that is all we can do. God is good - God is love - there is perfection in His plan. It is interesting how we would give every material possession and our very own souls to help or save our children or a family member. The experience Shamy's family is having has seeped into our lives and awakened our spirits to a different perspective in life. To look within ourselves deeper. Maybe this is one reason things like this happen. And of course as humans, we have some need to find reasoning in all things - some way to make sense of it.
The updates on the website have let us know that Shamy's boy is doing a little better and working toward getting home. Check out the website if you wish - send your love and divine energy to his family with us! You can link from here to the site at Spiderman Fights Cancer.

Wow. I can't even imagine. I really can't. My prayers will be with this sweet little family.
